6 months

On September 25th, Lyla turned half a year old! She is growing like crazy and embarking on new adventures every day. At her most recent appointment she weighed in over 17 pounds, so needless to say she isn't the least malnourished. She is now sitting up unassisted for several seconds, eating home made baby food, chewing on her feet, responding to the call of her name and cutting teeth! She has had a very busy week or so because most of this happened within the past few days. One tooth is already in on the bottom, and the second isn't far behind. I have say that she has been such a trooper through all of these dramatic changes. However, this is how she has been the entire time, nothing but easy going. She must take after her daddy 100% because anyone that knows me can tell you that I am definitely on the "type A" side of things.

She continues to go to the office with me a few days a week. Everyone enjoys her so much. She brings a little something extra to the work day, being a lot of extra smiles and laughs. I have to admit that I most grateful that I am able to take her and enjoy her. It is a true blessing and Dave will never know how appreciative I am. She also enjoys her time at the Playhouse and University Christian Church. It is a new experience for her every day and I know that she is very socialized because of her diverse experiences.....at least for now. ;0)

On another note, Fabian finished Swift Water training with the Fort Worth Fire Department a couple of weeks ago. That was a very grueling process for both of us! He was in training almost every day for three weeks straight. We have both learned to take everything in stride though, I guess a baby does that for people.

I am super proud of him because he really does strive to do his very best with passion and compassion, which I think is important. A lot of guys become jaded or desensitized after a few years.

Oh, and we are thinking hard about moving. I guess a baby, two adults and two dogs is just making our house feel smaller by the day. The decision isn't set in stone yet, but whatever God's will is what we accept.
